A sectional sofa or a sectional is best described as a modular sofa composed of several independent pieces. Traditional sectionals were L-shaped or U-shaped, comprised of two or three angular pieces. These are still the most popular shapes, but today's sectionals also come in softly curved U-shapes or S-shapes depending on your room and your style.
